Pregnancy can be hard on your body and there is a huge amount of conflicting information out there about pregnancy management.
Our Women’s Health Physio works in ante- and post natal management of Women’s Health issues including PSD (pubic symphysis diastasis) abdominal separation, incontinence and other pelvic floor dysfunctions.
Pregnancy puts a lot of strain on joints and muscles around the lower back and pelvis and whilst many people believe “that’s just something you need to put up with during pregnancy”, we would like you to know that there is so much that can be done to make the journey through pregnancy easier (and the recovery following much better).
We work with women to provide pain relief and improve strength and control in the pelvic region. We also have a wide range of SIJ belts and SRC pants to offer additional stability if required.
We also do extensive work with neck/shoulder and wrist pain following pregnancy, usually related to carrying and/or feeding the baby, including gentle massage, joint mobilisation and postural work.
Also, please feel free to bring your children in with you when you come – we know it can be really difficult to organise a time to get out and look after yourself on your own. Our reception staff are ready and willing to rock/cuddle/entertain your little one whilst you have treatment.
