Bye Bye Baby Bump

Bye Bye Baby Bump (b4) is a unique Post Pregnancy Exercise Program launched by Aushealth Physiotherapy in late 2009 to assist mother’s regain their core stability and overall fitness after giving birth.

Completely designed and carried out by our experienced staff of Physiotherapists, b4 is the smartest and safest approaches to reintroducing your body to exercise and the physical stresses it endures throughout the early stages of your baby’s life.

What does b4 consist of?
12 weeks in total, b4 gradually begins with and initial assessment to capture your baseline measurements and background information. Our physiotherapist then progress you through 3 stages of exercise starting with Hydrotherapy. Physiotherapy & Pilates- influenced Mat Exercises are then introduced followed by Machine-based Circuit Training at our Gym clinic location.

PLEASE NOTE: If you are uncomfortable with the idea of getting into your bathing suit for the initial Hydrotherapy Stage of b4, you have the option to substitute these sessions with 4 extra weeks of the Pliates-influenced Mat Exercises. Either way, you’ll be guided through a gradually progressive core stability exercise regimen.

  • 1-hour massage every 2 weeks of the pgoram with one of our Clinical Massage Therapists (5 Massages in total)
 

Frequently Asked Questions:

 

Can I claim b4 on my Private Health Fund?

Yes, if you have “Extras” coverage then before is completely claimable on your Private Health Fund. Aushealth Physiotherapy will provide you with all the necessary documentation.

When can I start and what do I need ?

On average, mothers start the b4 Program after their 6 week follow up with their obstetrician but some doctors allow their patients to get in earlier due to the nature of exercises that are implemented early on (hydrotherapy). Regardless of start date, Aushealth Physiotherapy requires written medical clearance from your obstetrician of GP prior to participating in b4.

What if I’ve had a cesarean?

Women who have undergone a cesarean section will need written medical clearance from their obstetrician of GP prior to participating in b4.

What time are the sessions?

b4 session times run between 12-3pm depending on what stage you are in.

Can I make up a session if I can’t make it?
